In the Theaetetetus, the character played by Socrates associates knowledge with a dove: every bird is information. When we make mistakes in learning we capture a wrong bird, a dove. Our memory is similarly constructed. Simultaneously inhabited by two versions of the same memory: the pure one, and the falsified one. Dove and dove will forever live together in the same space. Is video footage exempt from this definition? Is it possible for the recording of a moment to purify the image?
